Open terrace - The largest in DIFC
Dusty's!! What does it connote? play it a few times in your head and it sounds like a Diner in the suburbs, not a place you'd pick to take off on a date, meal or social. Despite the name, this swanky venture at Al Fattan Currency House, DIFC, with its modish interiors, inviting ambiance and concise yet appetizing menu, it could potentially give its acclaimed DIFC contemporaries a run for their money. Much like the story of Dusty Crophopper from Planes ( Lightning McQueen), Dusty's is a brand set to soar alongside champions daring to be original and to make a mark.
Why its a hotspot :
A tete-a-tete for financiers who work in the area and fashionable high heeled guests, this is an ideal escape for a business lunch, relaxed dinner or a ladies night, away from the hustle and bustle of the world outside. On a Tuesday night, glamour and beauty seems to infiltrate this venue in equal measure as this space offers one of the best ladies night menu in the city, with 4 drinks and 50% off main courses.
The indoor dining space has a casual warm feel with high tables, rustic color schemes and walls adorned with colossal murals. We were greeted promptly by our friendly servers and they came across as knowledgeable. We opted to dine alfresco at Dusty’s open terrace, the largest in DIFC (with a separate entrance) adorned with contemporary decor, palm trees, water features, heated lamps and a good view of neighboring DIFC area.
The cocktails served come with fun and flair complimenting the Live Dj's groovy tunes. Lets cut to the chase and elaborate on the most important part of our evening- The food! The menu describes itself as having a "global, family feel" , it is definitely praise worthy! For the appetizer we chose the garlic prawn and crab cakes, both simple dishes with few ingredients but packed with gusto.
Signet Ring Seals:
The top pick from the menu for an unforgettable dining experience is the black Cod paired with mango salsa. This menu selection seemed to be prepared with a technique which is a variation to Nobu's international phenomenon and was bewildering good, balanced with sweet and rich flavors.
Dusty's Red chicken, which came recommend as the founders favorite was an international twist to the classic chicken tikka masala- a delightful fork-full of my homeland flavors that explodes in the mouth with multiple dimensions. Dusty's manages to elevate the staple breakfast in most cultures- The French Toast, into a dessert extravaganza paired with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce- it is decadent, buttery-hot from the pan, heart-warming and a proud finish. The food speaks for itself and is worth every penny. Speaking of pennies, the brief menu is not a bargain but prices are not intimidating for the experience and taste it offers. Do not miss out because you are not convinced by the name. A lesson learned : Don't judge a book by its cover
Located in the heart of DIFC, the venue offers guests breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between, in a warm and relaxed setting.
