Eat the World DXB’s full line-up of London food trucks
The wait is nearly over: London’s finest food trucks have arrived in Dubai after a 4,000-mile journey from the UK to the UAE for the first-ever Eat the World DXB - a hip, new street food event bringing 15 of the English capital’s best and most diverse culinary concepts to the bustling Burj Park.
Eat the World DXB, runs February 25 – 27, and is part of the 2016 Dubai Food Festival - a city-wide celebration of all-things culinary taking place from 25th February – 12th March.
The inaugural three-day food truck event will cater for all culinary cravings via an eclectic menu featuring everything from slow-cooked beef cheek tacos, soft shell crab burgers and renowned chef Mark Hix’s ‘Rolls Royce of fish finger sandwiches’, to vegan sushi, Pad Thai, haloumi fries and gourmet ice cream sandwiches.
A contemporary street food, music and entertainment event, Eat the World DXB is expected to attract a bumper crowd of 20,000 Emiratis, expats and tourists. In addition to the 15 London food trucks, the event will feature a collection of the UAE’s leading food trucks, an exciting array of culinary experiences, a live chef demonstration theatre, a bill of top UAE-based session musicians and instrumentalists, and entertainment and activities for the kids.
Eat the World DXB will also feature a dedicated Tea & Cake area that will host the Wilton Cake Decorating Competition sponsored by Lurpak. Split into Under-18 and Over-18 categories, amateur bakers and pastry chefs will be judged on originality and creativity, visual impact, skill and execution, level of difficulty and interpretation of the ‘Cake the World’ theme. World famous French pâtissier and celebrity chef, Eric Lanlard, and celebrity chef, Rosemary Shrager, will chair the judging panel. Photographs of submissions should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday 23rd February with all shortlisted entries informed the following day. Shortlisted entrants must be available to showcase their cakes on the second day of Eat the World DXB on Friday 26th February. Prizes include AED4,000 in Gift Vouchers and Wilton gift hampers.
