What? Günaydin Dubai
Where? Souk Al Bahar
First Impression - A fine Anatolian fare on offer with uninterrupted views of a dancing fountain, a dedicated butchery as part of the restaurant and some theatrics from the serving chef to accompany your dining experience. Turkish Chef Cünyet Asan fondly called ‘the Professor of meat’ also the fastest butcher in the world and Salt Bae’s mentor happens to be the co-founder of this establishment, surely our expectations were steep before we hit this spot. Needless to say every expectation was met and Signet Ring has sealed this space as a must visit. I am made aware that Günaydin has more than 40 outlets in Turkey and is a highly successful chain. Well, why would that surprise me after experiencing their fare.
What to Order - The Boston Salata (Aed 35) is as fresh as it gets. The shashlik made from tenderloin meat cutand Adana Kebap (Aed 105) is a must-try
Signet Ring seals : Günaydin Spesiyal (2 kilos, for 2 adults AED 275) This dish is dedicated for those who love theatrics with their meat - for me it was more the meat that did it, melt-in-your mouth perfect.
What could improve ? The chef who served us did miss it on certain occasions while putting out his show..or hold it, am i to be blamed for secretly expecting a salt Bae number. Practice always makes perfect.
Would i go back ? Definitely taking guests visiting Dubai to experience a little out of the ordinary all in one place- with the dancing fountain, stunning views of Burj Khalifa, the aqua blue water, friendly service, good food, all for a reasonable pricing (i wouldn't call it frugal dining, but great value for the overall experience), who wouldn’t want to experience this!
