SignetRing Team was invited to the launch of ‘Bubbles, Bites and Beats’ at KATANA. This celebrity favored export from Sunset Strip LA, brings Fusion and ‘Robatayaki’ style of authentic Japanese cuisine to Dubai . Located between Souk Al Bahar and The Dubai Mall, Katana offers the best vantage point to spot Burj Khalifa and parts of the Fountain displays. The interiors reflect urban- contemporary style with attractive lighting features and inviting warm tones. Guests have a choice of dining at the innovative Robata counter, stylish dining areas or an Al Fresco terrace with stunning views.

The dining scene is helmed by Korean chef Lim, who has under his belt, previous work experience with famed Zuma and Okku that he brings to the table. Robatayaki cuisine for which the restaurant is known for, is a technique where bamboo skewered gourmet meat, fish and vegetables are grilled over a charcoal induced open flame.

We sampled Salmon and Tuna Sashimi- beautifully simple, fresh and good quality. The Garden green salad was elevated with just the most amazing plum and vinaigrette dressing we have ever savored. The Yellow tail Sashimi was noteworthy too. The Negima Chicken- charcoal grilled and the Salmon Carpaccio did not match our expectation as it lacked flavor and spunk.

Signet Ring seals : ‘Lychee and Mandarine Sorbets’ served as dessert - It was not intensely citrus and had the makings of a perfectly tropical pallet cleaner or a dessert. The chef has us convinced, that he has lovingly created the sorbet from scratch. They have us won over with a refreshing- healthy dessert.

Japanese cuisine combined with a view of the iconic Burj Khalifa and the sounds of the dancing fountain, Katana invites you to settle into a dining experience with a postcard view of Dubai.
