What : Partea Brunch

When :  Every Saturday from 2pm to 6pm.

Where: DUKES Dubai, Palm.

Dukes in London, is an institution known for it’s celebrated Afternoon Tea menu. The indulgent Menu and unbeaten service is now expanded across the sea to Dukes Dubai at the Palm. We set out to experience the  ‘Partea’ at DUKES Dubai in it’s classy intimate setting.

First Impression: The champagne and Tea lounge here is an impressive space with decor inspired by the Dukes Tea Lounge in Mayfair. Dedicated especially to the lovely ladies is an elegant pastel toned contemporary Tea salon with classic British tea ware refreshed in between service. Gentlemen need not feel left out, the Whisky and Cigar lounge is a sophisticated enclave unlike any we have seen in the city. For tea connoisseurs  the lounge also has a private area for up to 25 people and seating on the terrace, looking out over the stunning Jumeirah Beach Residence skyline.

Our experience began with a welcome  tea-based mocktail on arrival. The pleasant wait staff took care of our needs from the onset. The speciality brews from designer tea company, Tchaba, were introduced and presented to us with descriptions . I chose the ‘Happy Forest’ and it was refreshingly light and  scened, came accompanied with a tea timer (what a special touch).  We were presented with a cake stand filled with outstanding finger sandwiches and savories. Roast beef and horseradish finger sandwich from the selection deserves a special mention. The servers also introduced the afternoon tea-time buffet presented at the entrance. The red velvet cake and carrot cake is a must-try. Last but not least we were served fresh warm scones with  dollops of clotted cream and strawberry jam.  There is also a ‘bubbly’ option for those looking for something with a little fizz.
