Nestled on the 68 floor of  JW Marriott Marquis, Weslodge Saloon, a contemporary Canadian Restaurant that has debuted in Dubai is a must visit. The interiors reflect a luxurious hunting-lodge combined with an enviable panoramic view of the cityscape. I was intrigued to note that the scene here is a design and culinary paradox which resonates sophisticated yet casual, classic yet hipster, colossal yet intimate, authentic yet innovative. Perfect for folks looking for the best of both worlds. Design elements include antlers, ornate chandeliers, plush leather, wood, marble and monochrome photographs. Every space here is inviting and desirable.

The wait staff sparkle with true Canadian personality which they bring to the table. The kitchen butchers their own meat and prides of a rotisserie and a four meter grill - the largest in the Middle East. The paradox is not limited to design and food. The uber cool tattooed mixologist serve classic drinks with an artful flair. With a resident DJ, the music here embraces an expanse of genres - old and new school.

Signet Ring Seals: Whole Grilled Branzino (European Sea Bass). Perfect char from a well-seasoned grill and the jalapeno relish drizzled over flavored the filet ;its succulent flesh was cooked impeccably. It is less of the fuss and more of the combination of flavors served with personality on a Mediterranean blue and white ceramic platter.

This is a space with character and quality promising to deliver something unique to its discerning diners. With a romantic vista of twinkling city lights, its a perfect spot to hit on New Years or to throw an intimate party. I love everything about Weslodge Saloon; warm hospitality, inviting interiors, magnificent view and a kitchen confident in its craft. I am looking forward to a return visit.
